Holiday Buyer's Guide (Introduction)

2007 has been an unbelievable year for rock music. Unfortunately a trip to your local music store may not give you that same impression. These days, there are more bad albums being released than good albums, and it’s hard to find the many great bands of today without digging through a large amount of the bad ones. That’s why it’s important to know what to look for if you plan to buy albums for your loved ones this holiday season. Whether you’re having trouble deciding which albums to put on your Christmas list, or you’re looking for a gift for a special rock fan in your life, this Holiday Buyer’s Guide is for you! Unlike IGN, MP3.com, and other sites that have included music recommendations in their holiday buyer’s guides in the past, I’ve listened to more than just what’s popular, and I’ll answer any and all questions. There are nine categories that will be revealed over the next three days and ten albums in each section. So whether you or that special someone is a prog fan, alternative rocker, or even a hardcore headbanger, there’s a category that should fit your needs.

Sections:

-Progressive
-Symphonic/Power/Folk Metal
-Accessible Metal
-Alternative
-Classic Metal
-Mainstream Rock
-Melodeath/Doom/Goth
-Extreme Metal
-Other
